Some of us may have more than one MPF account, and it may be a challenge to juggle between accounts. For instance, to consolidate different MPF accounts, you have to gather account details, fill out and submit the forms. With the launch of the eMPF Platform, managing your MPF is now easier than ever.
Four things to know about eMPF
1. What is eMPF?
Developed and operated by eMPF Platform Company Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MPFA, the newly launched eMPF platform is a one-stop digital platform which centralises and digitalises all MPF schemes’ administrative processes, allowing employees, employers and self-employed members to manage their MPF accounts anytime, anywhere. With the streamlined process created by eMPF, MPF administration costs and fees can be lowered, in turn benefiting scheme members.
2. What is the purpose of eMPF?
MPF scheme members can access the eMPF Platform 24/7 via their computer or mobile app to handle all MPF related matters, including consolidate MPF accounts, make MPF contributions, switch funds, adjust MPF portfolios and review investment performance. By logging in to the platform, scheme members can review and manage all their MPF accounts, making MPF management a lot easier. Employers can also handle employees’ MPF matters at ease on this platform.
3. When will it be launched?
From 26 June 2024 to the end of 2025, all MPF schemes will get onboard the eMPF platform one by one. For details, please refer to the Schedule for MPF Scheme and Trustee Onboarding to the eMPF Platform. Scheme members and employers will also receive notices from their MPF trustees prior to the onboarding process.
4. How to register?
Upon receipt of the trustees’ notification, scheme members and employers can register for an eMPF account on the eMPF website or via the eMPF mobile app within a designated period. To register, members of the public can also visit self-service eMPF kiosks at the three eMPF service centres across Hong Kong, as well as the 12 telecommunication stores of the contractor. The registration process is simple, scheme members are only required to: (1) verify their identity, (2) provide personal information, and (3) set up an username and password. “iAM Smart” users may complete the identity verification directly via the “iAM Smart” mobile app.
