"$avvy Planning" teacher seminar

In Hong Kong, financial education is an integral part of career and life planning (CLP), be it college fees, salaries, MPF contribution or setting life goals etc., all require good money management skills and can be developed at school. Hence, the Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC), in collaboration with Ming Pao Education Publications, will hold a seminar to support teachers to teach money management topics in CLP. A human resource expert will introduce the latest development in the job market, and a seasoned teacher will share his teaching experience in this area.

The seminar will also introduce the "$avvy Planning" teaching resource, which is developed by IFEC. The teaching package is based on the guide on “Life Planning Education and Career Guidance for Secondary Schools (2014)” issued by the Education Bureau. It can also be used for Liberal Studies (Self and Personal Development module) and Business, Accounting and Financial Studies (Basics of Personal Financial Management module) as a supplementary teaching resource. The objective of the package is to help students understand the relationship of financial management with CLP, thus to prepare well for further studies and career development in the future.
