IFEC welcomes appointment of Director

The Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Wallace Lau as Director for a term of three years from 26 August 2025.

The appointment was made by the Securities and Futures Commission, of which the IFEC is a subsidiary.

IFEC Chairman Mr Victor Dawes said, “I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr Wallace Lau to the IFEC Board. His extensive expertise in the formulation of mandatory provident fund policies and regulations, along with his significant experience in stakeholder engagement, will be instrumental to the IFEC Board in providing strategic guidance to advance financial literacy across various segments.” Mr Lau is currently the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and Executive Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority. 

Mr Dawes also expressed his sincere gratitude to the outgoing Directors, Mr Jonathan Ho and Mr Louis Leung, for their exceptional contributions to the IFEC over the past six years. 

“Throughout Mr Jonathan Ho’s tenure1, his broad expertise in regulating mandatory provident fund management and retirement planning has significantly strengthened the IFEC’s efforts to advance investor and financial education in our community,” said Mr Dawes. 

Mr Dawes also added, “Mr Louis Leung has been an integral member of the IFEC Board throughout his tenure2. His expertise in academic planning, combined with his dedication into advancing quality education, has greatly enriched the IFEC's initiatives, particularly in fostering financial literacy among young people.”
