Programmes

The "$avvy Planning " teaching resource supports the increasing need to strengthen career and life planning education by investigating common financial management issues that students may face in their further study and career. This resource aims to help students build positive values so they can make better financial decisions to achieve their career and life goals.

The resource discusses the functions and importance of financial management in career and life planning, and encourages students to start planning as early as possible. It can also be used as a supplementary teaching resource for Business, Accounting and Financial Studies (Basics of Personal Financial Management module) and Liberal Studies (Self and Personal Development module).

 

This teaching resource consists of 6 topics, and a condensed version for junior secondary students:

Topic 1   Goal setting and review: The cost of your ideal living style

Topic 2  Exploring information on multiple pathways: Costs for different further study paths

Topic 3  Decision making skills: Work and further studies

Topic 4  Life skills on self-management: Financial planning skills

Topic 5  Workplace learning: Career and income

Topic 6  Career readiness: Starting to work

$avvy Planning (Condensed version)

 

This resource consist of student’s book and teacher’s book, with presentation slides, videos, teaching plans and worksheets, allowing flexibility to use as a teaching resource.

In collaboration with the Education Bureau, over 130 secondary teachers have already attended teacher seminars and gained access to the resource.
