Appointment of IFEC Chairman and Board of Directors

The Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Victor Dawes, SC, Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), as Chairman of the IFEC with effect from 15 November 2021.
Mr Dawes succeeds IFEC Chairman Mr Lester Huang, following the end of his appointment term on 14 November 2021. The appointment was made by the SFC of which the IFEC is a subsidiary of.
Mr Dawes said, "I am honoured to take on the role as Chairman of the IFEC. Investor and financial education has positive and far-reaching effects not only on individuals but also on the economy. I look forward to working together with the IFEC team and our stakeholders to enhance investor and financial education in Hong Kong.”
IFEC General Manager, Ms Dora Li said, "The IFEC team extends a warm welcome to Mr Dawes in his new capacity as IFEC Chairman. We look forward to working closely with Mr Dawes and the Board in furthering our mission to equip the public with the knowledge and skills to make informed financial decisions.”

The SFC has also appointed Ms Clara Shek and Mr Donald Chen as Directors of IFEC for a term of three years, effective from 19 October 2021 and 1 November 2021 respectively.
