IFEA 2024 Award Presentation Ceremony
commends stakeholders for supporting investor and financial education in Hong Kong

The Investor and Financial Education Council (IFEC) hosted the Investor and Financial Education Award (IFEA) 2024 Award Presentation Ceremony on 6 March 2025, recognising the outstanding efforts of stakeholders from various sectors in advancing investor and financial education in Hong Kong.

Officiating at the IFEA 2024 Award Presentation Ceremony, Mr Christopher Hui, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government said in his remarks, “The Government has been committed to supporting the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and its IFEC in promoting investor education through various channels to enhance the public’s financial literacy. I am pleased to see that, through the efforts of the IFEC, the overall financial awareness of our citizens has been steadily improving. 'The Chin Family' education platform and 'Hong Kong Money Month' have become well-recognised outreach initiatives, helping to raise public awareness of financial products and enhance fraud prevention awareness—both of which are crucial for the long-term development of Hong Kong as an international financial centre. I look forward to the IFEC continuing to expand its educational efforts, collaborating with different sectors of society, and further promoting financial literacy to strengthen Hong Kong’s financial competitiveness.”

Mr Victor Dawes, Chairman of the IFEC said, “The IFEC is dedicated to advancing investor and financial education in Hong Kong. The collaborative efforts of stakeholders from various sectors in this endeavour are pivotal in fostering a financially literate society. We would like to express our gratitude to all our stakeholders for supporting us and the IFEA, and for joining us on this meaningful journey to enhance investor and financial education while improving the financial well-being of people in Hong Kong.”

Dr Kelvin Wong, Chairman of the SFC said in his remarks at the ceremony, “High-quality investors are the cornerstone of healthy and sustainable financial markets. The IFEC plays an instrumental role in the SFC’s investor education and protection mandates, creating a wide range of financial education programmes catered for various age groups. As a world-class international financial centre, actively stepping up investor education work in Hong Kong can facilitate high-quality financial and investment information flow in our markets, which helps cultivate the financial literacy and risk management levels of the investing public, enabling them to navigate today’s complex and ever-evolving financial markets.”

At the ceremony, the IFEC announced the results of the IFEA 2024, which recognises a total of 31 organisations and schools for their outstanding contributions to investor and financial education. This year’s submissions showcased a diverse range of learning initiatives, from in-person workshops and programmes to online learning platforms, catering to various segments of society, including students, working adults, seniors, women, low-income families, ethnic minorities and migrant domestic workers.

The IFEC organises the IFEA which aims to recognise the outstanding efforts of stakeholders from various sectors in advancing investor and financial education in Hong Kong while facilitating the sharing of best practices in these initiatives. The IFEA presents awards in three categories: Corporate, Public/Professional Body and NGO, and Teaching (School Division and Teacher Division).
