A Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) is a group investment scheme (or so called "collective investment scheme"), mostly in real estate. It aims to give investors regular returns from rent on shopping malls, offices and hotels.
REITs marketed to retail investors in Hong Kong must be listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. You can buy or sell REITs via the stock exchange.
Apart from the usual investment risks, REITs have other risks connected with the real estate market.
Always read the offering documents and understand the investment goals, strategy, risks, fees and procedures before making a decision.
