As the famous quote goes: “Knowledge is Power”.
Organized by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the World Investor Week aims to equip investors with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage and protect their investment and wealth. This year's World Investor Week will be held globally from 30th September to 6th October.
With the rapid development of Fintech, coupled with the increasing complexity of the financial markets and products, the need for investors to stay ahead of the latest trends and technology is a given. This year’s World Investor Week aims to foster deeper understanding of the impact of technology on the financial markets, thus leading to products and services such as online investing and ICOs (initial coin offerings), as well as the associated online security and hacking threats. World Investor Week 2019 will also promote basic investment concepts, and financial and retirement planning educational tools and information.
For the third year in a row, the IFEC is promoting World Investor Week with a range of educational content and activities. IFEC is also supporting the education initiatives of other financial institutions such as the Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy by the HKEX and the World Financial Planning Day by the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong.
